Dubai, UAE (December 4, 2024): Hospitality Management Holding (HMH) has taken a significant step toward inclusivity by implementing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program across its managed hotels in the UAE. This global initiative is designed to foster understanding and support for individuals with non-visible disabilities, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued throughout their stay.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program, launched in 2016, enables individuals with hidden disabilities to signal their need for assistance discreetly by wearing a sunflower symbol. The initiative has been widely adopted across sectors such as retail, transport, and healthcare, and HMH is the latest to bring this program into the hospitality sector in the Middle East.
Guests at HMH-managed properties—including the Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah, Coral Dubai Deira Hotel, and ECOS Dubai Hotel at Al Furjan—can now benefit from this initiative. Hotel staff have undergone training to recognize and support Sunflower wearers, offering patience, understanding, and any additional assistance they may require.
Andy Faulkner, CEO of Topland, the exclusive partner of Hidden Disabilities Sunflower in the Middle East, remarked:
“We are thrilled to welcome HMH to the global Sunflower network. This initiative ensures that individuals with hidden disabilities are met with kindness and support wherever they go.”
Haytham Abdelaziz, Director of Operations at HMH, emphasized the company’s commitment:
“At HMH, inclusivity is a core value. Adopting the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program allows us to enhance guest experiences while setting a benchmark for compassionate hospitality.”
With this initiative, HMH reinforces its dedication to creating a supportive and welcoming environment for all guests, setting new standards for inclusivity in the hospitality industry.
