Moataz Rageb, the man behind Disco Arabesquo, is famous for bridging the gap between digging for Arabic
cassettes and vinyl to digitising and playing the songs in clubs for the Arab diaspora and the international community. With a focus on archiving, editing and DJing with ’80s, 90’s & 00’s songs, Disco Arabesquo aims to recreate a nostalgic Arab night with a Western Disco twist. Having only performed in Dubai as a guest DJ, this will be the first debut of the ‘Disco Arabesquo Night’ experience in the city. The event will entail a 3-hour set by Radio Al-hara’s Kuwaiti DJ and music connoisseur Cascou, as well as Disco Arabesquo himself.
Held at Off The Wall, a slick cocktail bar inspired by culture clash, much like the famous music, it is a perfect setting, with a gritty and urban ambience, fused with riffs of tradition, and interiors created by local artists.
