The tourism and travel sector in Dubai has achieved a strong recovery during the last year, supported by the successful handling of the COVID 19 epidemic. Dubai also received the highest foreign direct investment in the tourism sector in 2021 globally, attracting foreign investments worth 6.4 billion dirhams across 30 projects and creating 5,545 jobs.
Dubai has emerged as the most viewed destination on popular social media platform TikTok Travel 2022 according to an index released by Bounce, with the hashtag “Dubai” reaching over 81.8 billion.
Dubai also ranked second in last year’s index, taking first place from New York City, turning up a significant advance and showing just how popular Dubai has grown.
The emirate has become one of the most desirable destinations for tourists who want to bask in the sun in style and enjoy a variety of luxury hotels and resorts.
During the first five months of 2022, Dubai welcomed 6.17 million international visitors. The emirate also welcomed 7.28 million tourists last year, an increase of 32%.
All these indicators push the tourism sector forward towards more investments in the hospitality sectors especially in the hotel sector, where the rate of reservations reaches 90% during the season and the accompanying international exhibitions.
