Al Futtaim’s Trading Enterprises Honda Rides The Region’s Growing Motorbike Passion With Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival

Dubai, UAE, 19 September 2022: Al-Futtaim’s Trading Enterprises Honda is partnering with Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival (DMFF) as it readies to kick-off its second edition from 23rd to 24th September 2022 at Warehouse Four in Al Quoz. The festival will unite both motoring and movie enthusiasts to celebrate the unique culture and camaraderie of the motorcycling community in the UAE and around the world. This is the place to be for every motorbike cinephile!

Many of the world’s most iconic motorbikes have been produced by Honda, which is why the brand feels perfectly at home in this exclusive community-driven event. Trading Enterprises Honda will showcase a wide range of motorcycles, from the newly introduced CB 300R Neo Sports Café, the powerful and athletic super sports bike range, the uncompromising street fighter CB 300R, the Dakar winning CRF 450 and CBR 1000RR, alongside the ever-popular Goldwing. The company will also host post-film Q&As, audience awards, and other activities across Dubai in the run up to the festival.

Amir Shousha, Franchise Director, Honda UAE at Al-Futtaim’s Trading Enterprises, said, “Motorcycle culture has always been an intrinsic and vibrant part of society’s mainstream cultural ethos and is a coveted mode of transportation. Supporting the second edition of Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival gives us the opportunity to interact, expand and celebrate the UAE’s motorcycle community, which has grown exponentially in the recent years, with Honda being at the forefront, leading the space.”

“Traveling the world on a motorcycle encompasses the spirit of community, and there’s no better way to express it than in the form of a cinematic experience. The unique aspect about Honda motorcycles is that it offers something for everyone. The festival showcases a variety of films thematically based on motorcycles,” added Shousha.

The festival will curate films ranging from short films to full length documentaries as well as special bike builds. Some of the notable screenings include ‘The Desert Said Dance’ – a film that summarises The Baja 1000, a race like no other, it is the longest non-stop, point to point, off-road race in the world; ‘The Ended Summer’ that features Richard Vincent who raced motorcycles, surfed, sailed, karted, flew planes, and hot-rodded around Santa Barbara from the late 1950s through 1967; and ‘1500’ – a  journey of adventure, discovery, change and togetherness of 57 daring riders embarked on a 1500 mile rally from the southern to the northern tip.

Motorcycle themed films produced by members of the biking and filmmaking community stand a chance to win from the six award categories: Best Dubai Film, Best Overall Film, Best Documentary, Best Short Film (under 15 mins), Best Short Film (over 15 mins), and Viewers’ Choice Award. All the awards will be chosen by DMFF’s panel of judges comprising local and international motorcycle, media, and film industry professionals. The Viewers’ Choice Award will be finalised based on audience votes.

Talking about the exquisite culmination of motorcycle culture and cinema, Ian Carless, Festival Director, DMFF and Partner at Warehouse Four said, “After a hugely successful launch in 2021, we’re delighted to bring back Dubai’s sole event dedicated to nurturing the remarkable culture and camaraderie of the motorcycling community – Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival (DMFF).  We welcome the support from Al-Futtaim’s Trading Enterprise Honda once again as we collaborate for the second edition of this memorable event. We’re thrilled to gather biking lovers across the UAE and showcase a unique selection of motorcycle-inspired cinematic content, from films to documentaries. The festival will also provide niche motorcycle filmmakers an exclusive platform and opportunity to share a diverse range of stories that reveal the spirit of biking depicted via the cinematic art form and we’re excited to be part of this.”
