The Swiss canton of Vaud offers a summer calendar of festival fun for all the family

The magical Swiss canton of Vaud has plenty of activities on offer with a vibrant range of festivals to attract visitors to the destination famous for its natural beauty, This much-loved cultural festival will run its 13th edition from September 2 – 4, a free event to celebrate both Swiss and foreign contemporary literature. The festival will bring together 180 authors who are also available to meet the public at organised signings. Book lovers can also attend a range of events throughout the festival including literary cruises, stage performances, readings and book signings on the quays of Morges and in the city. For adults and children alike, a favourite feature of the event is The Little Train at the Livre sur les Quais, where visitors can enjoy seeing the town’s sights while listening to literary stories.

Taking place in one of the world’s most popular hiking destinations, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the 15th edition of this popular event run along with the Swiss Mountain Leaders Association, offers a wide array of expert-led excursions, ranging in duration from a few hours to a full day. Exciting attractions include night walks, bearded vulture walks and the bivouac walk, allowing visitors to get up close to the wonders of the Swiss wilderness. Happening on September 3 – 4, there will be walks for children, families and adults, allowing nature lovers of all ages and abilities to enjoy the great out

The only event of its kind in Switzerland dedicated to digital creativity for all audiences, it will be held this summer in the centre of Yverdon-les-Bains, this year offering a musical edition.
